Job summary

The position is responsible for managing CTF/TTF transactions during their whole lifecycle, maintaining reporting and controls of the Bank’s collateral positions of clients as well as for handling of the Bank’s day-to-day CTF/TTF operating activities.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Acting as a main point of contact for existing commodity trade finance (CTF) clients active in energy, metal and soft commodity business
  • Assessing clients’ financing proposals, collecting all necessary documentation, coordinating the internal workflow and instructing credit administration to process and input the exposure into in the bank`s core operational platform
  • Identification and mitigation of transactional credit and operational risks
  • Daily monitoring of clients’ positions and valuation of collateral under CTF/TTF transactions, chasing the necessary information, security and logistics documentation, preparing stock releases, liaising with forwarders, external collateral managers and brokers
  • Managing commodity price risk using market instruments applications and performing margin calls
  • Participating in the annual review of credit facilities and ensuring that the structure is well adapted to clients’ financing needs and to bank´s requirements
  • Liaising with other departments of the bank involved in CTF/TTF transactions
  • Directly reporting to the Head of Transaction Management

Required Experience/Skills/Qualification

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in CTF industry with at least 5 years’ experience in the soft and/or metals commodities sector of a CTF leading bank
  • Swiss / EU passport or valid Swiss work permit
  • Graduate in finance, economics, mathematics or physics
  • Conceptual and analytical skills with strong decision making capabilities
  • The ability to prioritize and multitask in a rapidly changing environment
  • An enthusiastic and quality-minded attitude combined with a professional approach
  • Skills of a dedicated solution provider and you are happy to take initiative to improve
  • Strong command of Excel and MS office
  • Ability to prioritize, act efficiently and within tight deadlines
  • Experience with documentary instruments (LCs, SBLCs, Doc. Collections) will be an advantage
  • Fluent English. Russian and German will be an advantage.
